Another Francis Burns UMC Freedom Schools® Summer Program Session Comes To An End

As summer comes to an end, so does the Francis Burns UMC Freedom Schools® Summer Program Session for 2025. This year the students were able to meet many community leaders, work in groups, complete projects, and go on field trips that taught them many lessons.

Thanks to volunteers and others from the community, the Francis Burns Freedom School participants were able to learn and grow. Most of the students come from the Farrow Road corridor. That is the community that Francis Burns UMC and The Burns Foundation serves in Columbia, SC. Because of funding and community support, the Freedom School was able to provide meals for the students as well.
